Generative AI models leverage artificial intelligence technologies to create entirely new content. This advancement from traditional machine-analysis, or AI, exemplifies how AI programs have learned from large language models created by Google, Microsoft, and Meta.
Generative AI has been described as the most talked about tech in Silicon Valley and Open AI is at the heart of it. Open AI had a new product release in November called Chat GPT, a form of generative AI. Since then it has generated all the hype.
SO, WHAT IS CHATGPT?
Chat GPT is a chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022. It is built on top of OpenAI’s GPT-3 family of large language models, and is fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.
WHO IS THE OWNER OF CHAT GPT?
Chat GPT is owned by Open AI. The organization was founded in San Francisco in late 2015 by Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and others, who collectively pledged US$1 billion. Musk resigned from the board in February 2018 but remained a donor and an advisor. In 2019, OpenAI LP received a US$1 billion investment from Microsoft. In Musk’s words “Chat GPT is scary good”.
WHAT IS THE USE OF CHAT GTP?
ChatGPT is an innovative move to build a connection between humans and a bot that connects so seamlessly that it almost feels like a natural conversation. Unlike traditional methods, this technology has been combined with AI algorithms to offer solutions to their users just like a normal messaging application. A statement from Open AI says: “ We’ve trained a model called ChatGPT which interacts in a conversational way. The dialogue format makes it possible for ChatGPT to answer follow-up questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises and reject inappropriate requests.” The chatbot generates eerily articulate and nuanced text in response to short prompts, with people using it to write love letters, poetry, fan fiction — and their schoolwork. Chat GPT is currently limited to text responses but is still very creative. You can ask it to generate wireframes, SVGs, and HTML code. All you need is the right prompts and context. You can even have it generate a text prompt for another AI tool like DALL-E. However this is not the first go at this kind of AI. Microsoft and Meta had their go at it, but in the end did not succeed because their AI chat bot was taught inappropriate and inaccurate information. Open AI on the other hand is trying to avoid this with the implementation of Moderation API.

CAN THIS LEVEL OF AI REPLACE HUMANS?
